Axon

Axons are the middle-men of the nervous system, conducting impulses from cells to other cells or muscles. Many are covered in myelin (a protective coating around your nerves), thus adding axons to the list of things possibly damaged by MS, a neurological disorder which causes your immune system to mistakenly attack this protective coating.
